The Beaudesert Enrolled Nurse (EN) was nominated for her outstanding level of compassion, which was said to have surpassed expectations for someone new to the field.
The nomination highlighted Samantha's extraordinary dedication over the past 18 months, going above and beyond for patients and their families.
She is witnessed to have excelled in supporting the cultural needs of families during end-of-life care and her compassion even extended to sitting with patients when they had no family present, providing them with the comfort they needed in their final moments.
Samantha who interestingly was born at Beaudesert Hospital, has been an EN for nearly 2 years and expects to finish her Bachelor of Nursing degree this year.
When asked what compassion meant to her, Samantha said it meant giving your everything.
“It’s about being there for your patients, your colleagues. It's understanding what your patient is going through and supporting them through that,” she said.
